Pine Mountain, an RVC Outdoor Destination is having another photo contest!

Guests of Pine Mountain, submit your best “Fantasy in Lights” photos from this season for a chance to win a winter vacation package, compliments of RVC Outdoor Destinations.

The rules are simple:

E-mail your favorite/best two photographs from Callaway Gardens’ Fantasy in Lights show to Pinemountain@rvcoutdoors.com before January 5^th. We like artsy photos, but no overly digitally enhanced photos, please. The photos don’t just have to be of the lights, we will accept anything associated with the event. 

Two first place winners will be announced on January 6^th. So the sooner you send in your photos, the better!

Here’s what the winners will receive:

•  Two night stay at Pine Mountain, an RVC Outdoor Destination on a concrete RV site or in a Yurt (heating, wood floors, beds…really neat!)
  
• Free winter pack including a firewood bundle, bag of ice, Wii rental, and coffee/hot chocolate in the morning for the whole family

Your photos will be showcased on our website, blog, and Facebook! Other photos from the event and/or your Pine Mountain stay that you’d like to submit to be included in our Facebook photo album will be accepted, too. Just label which two you’d like to enter in the contest.

Pine Mountain is giving back to the community with their "Mid-week Fantasy" package

RVC's Pine Mountain, GA destination will offer a “Mid-week Fantasy” package to coincide with the Callaway Gardens “Fantasy in Lights” show. The package can be purchased from Nov. 19 to Dec. 30 for mid-week stay only.

Guests of Pine Mountain will have the benefit of obtaining access to the many amenities and features the resort has to offer, while also enjoying Callaway Gardens’ famous holiday light and sound show. RVC Outdoor Destinations has chosen to give back to the community by giving ten percent of the package proceeds to the Salvation Army.

This special holiday package is for Monday-Thursday reservations, but weekend lodging is also available for purchase. The package will include two tickets to the Fantasy in Lights show, one concrete site (Azalea) with cable and free Wi-Fi, a bundle of firewood, and two complimentary gourmet coffees in the morning. The cost of the package is $69, with a value of $85. Additional nights for the concrete sites are $40. Cabin and yurt stay is not included in the package.

Pine Mountain, an RVC Outdoor Destination is only three miles from Callaway Gardens, and just one hour from Atlanta. RV and non RV guests are welcome and there are cabins available for rent starting at $80 a night. There are also furnished yurts available for stay starting at $38 a night. Along with cozy accommodations, guests can enjoy concierge service, a community lodge with a coffee, beer, and wine bar, free Wi-Fi, activities pavilion, Bark Park Off-leash area, plus more.

Fall Colors are just about here!!!!

Yes, Pine Mountain is where you will find the roadsides bursting with color and you really don’t want to miss the only Cascading Mums in the world at Callaway Gardens. These special Mums have been cultivated by the Expert horticulturists and will be in full bloom during the last two weeks of October and the first week or so in November. Given the economy, this is a great way to relax and unwind for only a few bucks…

Callaway Gardens does have the gorgeous cascading mums this time of year, but my personal favorite is the Day Butterfly Center. This time of year, the Blue Morpho butterflies are coming out of their coccoons and displaying the magnificent colors that make them so unique in the insect world. Dull and brown on the outsides of their wings, they appear to be an average, although large, moth… but don’t be fooled by their outer appearance! When they alight on a plant or fixture, they spread their wings to display a stunning electric blue wingspan. Words just can’t describe the vivacity of the color.

Also, this time of year is ideal for hiking the Pine Mountain Trail, as the changing colors and brisk breezes are only part of the breathtaking experience. Pack a picnic lunch, chill a bottle of wine, and take off on your own expedition across some of Georgia’s most beautiful scenery….. it is my very favorite way to spend a lovely autumn day!
