To Our New Managers: Welcome!

We're welcoming two general managers at our Pine Mountain, GA and Freeport, FL resorts! They bring experience in the travel and leisure industry and add to the group of superb managers RVC already has on board. Additionally, we're training another team of staff for the newest property in Arkansas - Catherine's Landing. Please note that this destination will now be open in March (the weather is to blame for the setback!)

We welcome Neil Sorrell, Manager of Live Oak Landing in Freeport, FL to the team. Live Oak Landing opened in November of 2010 and the resort has just finished construction of additional enhancements. Sorrell has traveled the globe and was responsible for nearly $2,000,000 in sales with Outdoor Resorts of America in 2005.

Jim Anderson, Manager of Pine Mountain, an RVC Outdoor Destination in GA, has been involved in the outdoor resort industry for over five years. He worked at an RV Park near Yellowstone National Park in Arizona, where he provided oversight of operations for over 300 sites. After that, he led a restructuring and successful turn-around effort at an RV park in Wyoming.

Catherine’s Landing (AR) will be managed by Aundrea Crary and assistant manager Ian Horgan. Both have experience in the hospitality industry and Crary currently serves on the Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce board.

“All of our General Managers, including Sheryl Mitchell, General Manager of our Carrabelle Beach, FL property, have deep experience in the travel and tourism fields,” explained Yale Spina, Vice President of Operations for RVC Outdoor Destinations. “I am proud to be working with such a strong group of professionals and it doesn’t hurt that they are also great people,” Spina added.

Let's make this an exciting and prosperous year!

RVC's Outdoor Destinations Participating in Tents for Troops

Starting this month, RVC Outdoor Destinations will be participating in ‘Tents for Troops.' This charitable program is a way for participating RV parks and campgrounds to say ‘thank you’ to the men and women who serve in the military. All of the company’s properties – Pine Mountain (GA), Carrabelle Beach (FL), Live Oak Landing (FL), and Catherine’s Landing (AR) will be signed up to offer free nights and discounts.

RVC’s participance in charitable events has always remained an important factor to the company’s principles. Every property strives to be involved in what they can within the community, especially if it is for a good cause such as Tents for Troops, a national message of gratitude.

“We’re always looking for ways to give back or show our thanks to the citizens who make a difference,” said Yale Spina, Vice President of Operations at RVC Outdoor Destinations. “We encourage these men and women to come to any of these properties to relax and spend quality time with their families,” he added.

Active military personnel and their immediate family will find two free nights of stay and discounts for additional night stay at three of the four properties starting in December. Catherine’s Landing in Hot Springs, AR will be open February 2011, so the special offer will apply then.

Pine Mountain, an RVC Outdoor Destination will offer two free nights at four concrete RV sites and four tent sites. Live Oak Landing, which is roughly four hours and 20 minutes from Pine Mountain, will offer two free nights on four of their concrete RV sites. Not far from Live Oak Landing, Carrabelle Beach, an RVC Outdoor Destination is offering two free nights at three concrete RV sites. Lastly, Catherine’s Landing will offer two free nights at four concrete RV sites when open. A 10% discount will be given for additional nights at all properties, and reservations are required.

RVC properties are known for having a variety of fun and relaxing activities, unique lodging options, and uncommon amenities; all while being located in some of the most beautiful and natural settings of each area. Along with RV Sites (and tent sites for Pine Mountain), all RVC properties have additional options for stay including cabins, Resort Cottages, and yurts. Guests can also enjoy the advantages of free Wi-Fi, concierge service, coffee, beer & wine sales, game rooms, and much more.

The Tents for Troops program was created this year by Toutle River RV Resort and is supported by ARVC (Association of RV Park and Campgrounds) and other participating campgrounds and resorts across America. The motto of the program is “Creating a place to enjoy life, away from the field.”

Brand New Walton County, FL Destination Offering "Buy One, Get One Free" Nights

RVC’s newest destination “Live Oak Landing,” located north of Seaside, Florida and near the Hwy 331 bridge, is opening in just TWO weeks! We can’t believe that after all of this hard work, it’s finally here. The location is surrounded by water and offers boat access to the Choctawhatchee Bay, Gulf of Mexico, Inter Coastal Waterway, and the Choctawhatchee River System. It’s surrounded by water, yet remote in its location. You can say you get the “best of both worlds” by vacationing here. The grand opening is November 1st.

Florida beaches are definitely a huge attraction, but sometimes you don’t want to stay at a busy, tourist filled (and often crowded) beach location. Live Oak is a peaceful alternative to that, yet it’s within minutes from the beach…so you still get that access. Boating and fishing enthusiasts will also find it an unbeatable attraction with the choices of bay, gulf, river and bayou fishing. Guests can fish a wide variety of species including Redfish, Speckled Trout, Striped Bass and Mullet from the edge of the property. Or, they can use a boat from the resort to move a short distance onto the bay, Gulf, and other systems for a wider range of options.

Live Oak Landing offers furnished cottages, RV Sites with full hook-ups, a private boat ramp and dock for guests, charter fishing service access, and free Wi-Fi. In addition, Live Oak is pet friendly and features an activity/meeting pavilion that can be utilized for corporate or recreational outdoor retreats. The strategic location in South Walton County also makes it the ideal weekend escape for those living in the area.

As you may know, an important cornerstone in ALL of RVC’s outdoor destinations is the preservation of the surrounding environment. The property is surrounded by peaceful water reflecting the Spanish moss covered trees, with each site carefully nestled within this natural attraction. The common thread running through all of RVC’s outdoor destinations is the linking of beautiful, well planned environments with exceptional service and amenities, as exhibited in Live Oak Landing.

If that isn’t enough to intrigue you, how about a free night? Now through the end of December you can buy one night and RVC will get the second. Be one of the first to experience this brand new, one of a kind destination.

Whether you want to get away from it all and enjoy a mind-freeing, secluded vacation, or you want to show your kids the heart of the outdoors, Live Oak Landing can fulfill these plans. Make your reservations now, and get your free night! -

RVC OUTDOOR DESTINATIONS EXPANDING IN A SHRINKING ECONOMY

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – RVC Outdoor Destinations is planning and preparing for better times despite the economic downturn. While a few other companies may talk about buying properties, or their plans to do so, RVC is actually building, developing and expanding multiple outdoor destinations with a focus on RV, cabins, cottages and yurts.

“We’ve seen that most RV and cabin oriented properties have been unable or unwilling to keep up with customer demands, current technology or even basic maintenance. We are confident that by creating a new hospitality experience, our properties will continue to be successful and our company will expand. In fact, in addition to completing two properties over the next few months, we are actively acquiring land sites and existing RV oriented properties while also working to expand current locations,” said Andy Cates, President of RVC Outdoor Destinations. “We are creating a new product type within the hospitality industry, defining our role as the best owner and operator of outdoor destinations in the United States,” Cates added.

By February RVC will have six of its properties open and operating. Five properties will have been newly built or totally redeveloped and the sixth, Carrabelle Boat Club, is a state-of-the art boating facility within one mile of RVC’s Carrabelle Beach Outdoor Destination. RVC currently has two destination locations open for business in Carrabelle Beach, FL and Pine Mountain, GA. Properties in Freeport, FL (Live Oak Landing) and Hot Springs, AR (Catherine’s Landing) will open in November and February respectively.

The common thread running through RVC’s outdoor destinations is the linking of beautiful, well planned environments with exceptional service and amenities. These unique properties, almost all of which are on water, provide an alternative to hotels, isolated cabins, and worn out campgrounds. By combining design that is sensitive to preserving the natural beauty of their environments with high quality accommodations, amenities and service, RVC is providing memorable vacation experiences and clearly defining the meaning of the phrase outdoor destination.

About RVC Outdoor Destinations: RVC Outdoor Destinations owns and operates a unique recreation brand that combines your ideal natural environment with your favorite hotel experience. RVC Outdoor Destinations has locations in Arkansas, Georgia, North Carolina, and Florida. For more information, visit www.rvcoutdoors.com.
