RVC Vacations Made Easier Thanks to New Florida Airport

On May 22, the historic grand opening of the Northwest Florida Beaches Airport was celebrated with a weekend of air shows and celebration.

Northwest Florida Beaches Airport will be accepting nonstop daily flights through Southwest and Delta airlines to and from multiple cities in the mid-South and beyond, making Carrabelle Boat Club and Live Oak Landing even more accessible. The airport will feature a regional information center and multiple car rental companies including Enterprise and Hertz to help people get to RVC's sites. In addition to making northwest Florida more convenient, the airport anchors 41,000 acres designated for shoreline and wetlands conservation and non-intrustive recreation. The airport itself expects to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Certification.

The airport is stationed roughly halfway between RVC's Carrabelle and Live Oak Landing outdoor destination sites, making both sites much more easily accessible. It is a just a few short miles from scenic Highway 30 Interstate 98.
